About aed
aed is the service provider of the Austrian Federal Government for the implementation of international reform projects. aed represents Austria’s interests in projects funded by the EU and other international institutions. aed is an Austrian agency taking the legal form of a not-for-profit association. Its members include the Austrian Federal Chancellery, federal ministries, public and semi-public bodies and interest groups.
Mandate
One-stop service provider for reform projects
aed is a central contact point for Austrian stakeholders, combining Austrian best practice with professional project management and quality standards. In the classical project cycle aed ensures the transition from project ideas to funding applications, assisting with project submissions, project execution and evaluation.
Selection of technical experts
Given its membership and thanks to its own comprehensive database, aed has access to a time-tested selection of seasoned experts who are grouped into proficient project teams for the international projects. This ensures that the projects entrusted to aed are executed efficiently and with maximum practical applicability.
Easing the administrative burden
aed boasts practical experience from more than 300 successfully completed projects in more than 30 countries. aed offers its members proficient support with complex tasks, easing administrative burdens with its back office team. In this way, experts are free to focus on delivering their technical expertise

In accordance with the Austrian law on associations, the aed statutes define the duties and tasks of the association, as well as its organisational structure.
Aspects defined by the aed statutes include the bodies of the association, such as the general assembly, the board, the management, the advisory board, the state control commission and the arbitration panel.
